Apologies dear readers! I have delayed posting. I admit this delay is caused by my need to be perfect. Today’s blog topic is learning to be comfortable in being “good enough”.
What does good enough mean? For me:
- it’s saying that once something is 70-80% complete that it is good enough to share.
- it means that we can define our own rules as long as most of our audience accepts them
- it’s about learning to be iterative
- and, while perfection is an allusion, clarity is still important
If you are stuck, like I have been with my blogging frequency, ask yourself if there is something, however small, you can accomplish today? Sometimes, completing 15 or 30 minutes of work is good enough to keep you on the path to your ultimate goal. Achieving a small task is the “first step” of starting on a long journey. The challenge then becomes taking a small step regularly. Any journey starts with a small step, continues with regularity so that you can reach your destination. Along the way, it is important to look around, see where you are and assess the progress.
So, today, I say that I am good enough to write a blog about my current challenge and to take a small step in writing this simple blog post. What small step can you take today?
